This Mirror Isn't Big Enough

I was gazing into a pond, trying to forget everything, when I saw something staring back that wasn't me. She looked like me, but her skin was diseased and gangrenous. I didn't feel any different.

I dragged my fingers through the water, disturbing the reflection. When it settled once more, the face in the water was my own again.

The Unforgivable laughed inside my head. I didn't bother asking whether what I had seen was her doing.
